EU National Employees and BREXIT

EU nationals will be able to continue to live and work in the UK after 29th March 2019 but will need to apply for settled status if they wish to remain living and working in the UK after 30th June 2021.
The UK Government are currently piloting the application process and have confirmed that the application process will be fully open by 30th March 2019 and the UK Government have now announced that there will no be no fee to apply (they’d previously said it would cost £65.00 per adult applicant and £32.50 per applicant under the age of 16).
Applicants may apply for settled status at the point where they have lived in the UK for at least six months in any twelve month period for five continuous years; exceptions to this apply where applicants have returned to their native country for one period of up to twelve months for an important reason (such as childbirth, serious illness, study. vocational training or an overseas posting) or for compulsory military service of any length.
Applicants may apply for pre-settled status if they will have five years continuous residence in the UK by 30th June 2021 and will then be able to change their pre-settled status to settled status as soon as they have five year’s continuous residence in the UK (subject to the same rules as above).
Applicants who will not have five years continuous residence in the UK by 30th June 2021 will still be able to apply for pre-settled status prior to 30th June 2021 and then will be able to change their pre-settled status to settled status when they have five years continuous residence in the UK.
